The Dark series with time-travel from Germany officially comes back and once again “Blow the mind” of the audience.
Dark is a German-speaking long series released the first season on Netflix system in 2017 and quickly becomes hot in the science fiction genre. The film is set in a small German town called Winden, revolving around the disappearance of little children in Winden and disturbances that occur in four afflicted families. Dark Season 1 is very successful when science fiction, mystery, family tragedy or character psychological changes are equally distributed and balanced. In parallel with the above factors, the details of time travel is also an impressive highlight of the series.
Time travel is not something new and unique because there are many movies that use this detail to tell their stories. But there are few movies that confuse audiences and “lose brains” like Dark, the series like to take this factor to a new level. Not only present through the past, the past goes back to a past, but also to the future and back to the present. In addition, Dark has a huge amount of characters, up to a few dozen. A character even has up to 3 actors to play, corresponding to the number of ages in the time lines mentioned, so the disorder and … forgetting the character is something that is easy for viewers. But there is no feeling of abundance because every character is fulfilling his duties, which are important links in the content that cannot be removed.
Season 2 Dark is still so constructive but focuses more on the mysteries mentioned in previous episodes. Season 1 shows viewers the surface of the ice, season 2 digs deeper into the dark corners of the characters. Gradually forming a world of time triangles between the past – present – the future with huge “greasy” secrets can make anyone have a brain explosion.
The video of season 1 is quite slow and moderate, and the situations are streamlined to create tension for viewers. Season 2 speeds up the pace a bit, still very attractive even though some factors are out of balance. Building more characters though is a bit more messy for viewers, but it is necessary for a movie with a massive plot like Dark. The more characters, the scope of the story is expanded, between them there is a close link like the preface of the “Everything is connected” poster.
As mentioned, Dark revolves around the members of the four families who are associated with each other, including: the Doppler family, the Kahnwald house, the Nielsen house and the Tiedemann family. You cannot imagine how the time travel element has strongly influenced those four families, the relationship between the characters is also confusing, the fact that you just watched and stopped the movie. Saving characters is understandable. When season 2 is broadcast it is also time to review season 1 because after 2 years you will miss very few movie details, even … forget it. To talk about their relationship, at midnight, it was not over, but season 2 succeeded in building the emotional psychological element of some typical characters such as Egon Tiedemann and Ulrich – Mikkel’s father and son. The family tragedies and the affair of the characters also made the film more heavy and dark.
If season 1 time travel only occurs in a certain number of characters, the rest is spoiled for realizing the disappearance of relatives, then the second part they have gone through time like … shopping. However, the desire to change the results of the characters seems to be useless because the time triangle will also change if only one thing is changed. 33 years is the time gap between each shift, season 2 has expanded to 33 years in the future after Winden was destroyed by incidents at the Chernobyl nuclear plant.

Many viewers commented that Dark is a bit similar to Stranger Things, but it is actually only a missing boy and a context in the 80s, which is a very small part of the entire Dark line. In addition, the content of the film is much darker and massive, and is not suitable for the age of 13+.
One plus point of the series is the beautiful, charismatic soundtrack and evokes audiences with mysteries that seem to have no stops. The opening and poster series are all impressive with the use of symmetrical visual effects and a combination of images that create ghostly frames and visually deceive viewers. The color of the film is quite dark and especially appears a lot … rain. Rain from season 1 to season 2 as if to wash away all the evil filter trick and clean small town Winden.
It seems that Dark is the underrated series on Netflix, with the content and line of characters being built so excellently, the series should get more popularity. On IMDb Dark page rated 8.6 / 10, a high score with the foreign language series. Season 2 has just been streamed on the system on June 21, which is also an important milestone in the movie. Season 3 is currently on camera and fan rumors will be aired on June 21 next year, or … next year.
Season 2 Dark is being released on Netflix and currently has no Vietnamese subtitles, please enjoy this movie right away if you love the science fiction, thrill, suspense and watch the “flying brain”.
